Qwest Arena High School Hockey Invitational
November 1, 2005 - ECHL (ECHL)
Idaho Steelheads News Release
Boise, ID - Qwest Arena is proud to announce the return of Boise's premier High School Hockey Tournament. The Second Annual Qwest Arena High School Hockey Invitational begins Friday, November 4th and runs through Sunday, November 6th.
Like last year, eight of Idaho's elite hockey teams will participate in a battle for the chance to lay claim to the title of Idaho's ultimate high school hockey team. Bishop Kelly, Boise, Capitol/Borah, Eagle, Meridian, Timberline, and Wood River will attempt to de-throne last year's reigning champion, Centennial.
Since hockey is a non-sanctioned high school sport in Idaho, many of the participating hockey teams struggle to raise funds. Each team is selling tickets around the valley to raise money for their program and to raise awareness of their sport. A $10 entry pass will grant admission to all 16 invitational games. Each entry pass also enters the purchaser into a raffle organized and operated by the Swigert Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides scholarships to local hockey players. Raffle prizes include: a Sony 5.0 mega pixel digital camera, a Playstation 2, a hockey roller bag, an iPod shuffle, Idaho Steelheads tickets, Idaho Stampede tickets, movie passes, hotel stays, and dining gift certificates.
To purchase tickets, and show your support please contact one of the participating schools. Tickets will also be available at the door.
