Falcons' Curtin Named In Glas Co ECHL Player Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Luke Curtin of the Fresno Falcons is the In Glas Co ECHL Player of the Week for October 24-30.

The 28-year-old Curtin scored eight points (5g-3a) and was a +2 in three games for the Falcons. Curtin began the week scoring a team record four goals, including the game-winner, and five points in Fresno's 5-2 win at Long Beach on October 28 and scored a shorthand goal and had two assists in the Falcons 7-6 shootout loss against Idaho on October 29.

The 6-foot-2 and 205-pound Curtin spent last season with Atlantic City scoring 40 points (9g-31a) in 38 games, and San Antonio of the American Hockey League where he had two assists in five games.

Selected in the fifth round (134th overall) by Colorado in the 1996 NHL Entry Draft, Curtin helped Atlantic City win the Kelly Cup in 2003. He was second in the playoffs in scoring with 20 points and led all players with 18 assists, including four in the Finals.

The native of St. Paul, Minn. enters his seventh season in the ECHL and he has also spent parts in five seasons in the AHL and the International Hockey League. Curtin spent three seasons with Kelowna of the Western Hockey League where he scored 184 points (73g-111a) in 167 games.

On behalf of Luke Curtin, a case of pucks will be donated to a Fresno area youth hockey organization by In Glas Co, the exclusive puck supplier for the ECHL.

In Glas Co has donated over 12,500 pucks to youth hockey organizations in ECHL cities since it began sponsoring the award in 2000-01. In Glas Co also donated all of the limited-edition pucks that were used during the opening weekend and auctioned off for hurricane relief.
