Royals Goaltender Cody Rudkowsky Runner Up For Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Cody Rudkowsky was selected as the runner up for the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week award. Rudkowsky, a seventh year pro, played in one game for the Royals last week, stopping 19 of the 20 shots he faced in the Royals' 2-1 overtime victory over the defending Kelly Cup champion Trenton Titans in Reading's home opener on Saturday night. Rudkowsky is now 2-0-0 on the season with a 1.44 goals against average and a .925 save percentage.

The Royals next game is on Friday night (7:00 pm) in Greenville, South Carolina, against the Grrrowl. Saturday night (7:00 pm), Reading is in Dayton for a North Division match up against the Bombers; and then the Royals take on the Toledo Storm in an afternoon matinee (3:05 pm) on Sunday in Toledo. The next home game for the Royals is Friday, November 11 against the Dayton Bombers, when the team will give away magnetic schedules courtesy of Papa John's Pizza. All of the Royals action can be heard live on ESPN Radio, 1240 am or through the internet at www.royalshockey.com, with pre-game beginning one-half hour before the opening face-off.
