Aces' Beckford-Tseu Named Reebok Hockey ECHL Goalie Of The Week

PRINCETON, N.J. - Alaska's Chris Beckford-Tseu is the Reebok Hockey ECHL Goaltender of the Week for October 24-30.

The 6-foot-3 and 205-pound Beckford-Tseu went 2-0-0 stopping 52 of 53 shots and posting a 0.50 goals-against average and .981 save percentage in two games against Bakersfield.

On October 28 Beckford-Tseu made 29 saves, including 13 in the third period, to give the Aces a 3-1 win. The 21-year-old made 23 saves and posted his second professional shutout as the Aces won 4-0 win on October 30.

Selected in the fifth round (159th overall) by the St. Louis Blues in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Beckford-Tseu spent his rookie season in 2004-05 with Peoria of the ECHL where he was 11-12-3 with a 2.71 goals-against average and .908 save percentage in 29 games. He also appeared in a game with Worcester of the American Hockey League and made seven saves in 29 minutes.

The Toronto, Ontario native spent three years with Guelph, Oshawa and Kingston of the Ontario Hockey League, accumulating a record of 36-53-6 in 115 games. In 2002-03 he appeared in 54 games with Oshawa and was 25-26-2 with a 3.16 goals-against average and a .891 save percentage.

Runners Up: Mathieu Chouinard, Phoenix (2-0-0, 1.50 GAA, .962 save pct.) and Cody Rudkowsky, Reading (1-0-0, 0.93 GAA, .950 save pct.).
