San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (February 21, 2014) - Ice Warriors, a one-hour documentary highlighting the 2014 US Paralympic Sled Hockey team, will air on Monday, February 24 at 10/9 CT on PBS and the network's Medal Quest website. San Antonio Rampage sled hockey players Rico Roman, Josh Sweeney and Jen Lee, who will compete for Team USA in the Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi, are featured in the documentary.
Rampage fans are invited to participate in an at-home watch party for the premiere of the documentary. Using the hashtag #RampageIceWarriors, fans can share photos and thoughts on the broadcast for a chance to win tickets to Military Appreciation Night and other Rampage prizes. Interact with the Rampage on social media: @sarampage on Twitter, sarampagehockey on Facebook and @sarampage on Instagram. San Antonio Rampage and Team USA sled hockey forward Josh Sweeney will take over the Rampage Twitter account during the documentary, interacting with fans and sharing his thoughts as the team preps for its first game in Sochi on March 8.
The Rampage Sled Hockey Team, which was formed in 2007, is made up of wounded military service members. Sweeney is serving as an alternate captain for the U.S. Team, and goalie Lee and forward Roman will also compete in Sochi. All three contributed to Team USA's second-place finish at the 2013 World Sledge Hockey Challenge in December.
The Rampage Sled Hockey Team is run by Operation Comfort, a nonprofit organization that works with wounded Service Members coming from Iraq and Afghanistan who are recovering at Brooke Army Medical Center (BAMC) in San Antonio, Texas.
The San Antonio Rampage will honor the men and women who have served and continue to serve our country with their 11th annual Military Appreciation Night, sponsored by Champion AC, on Saturday, March 1. The team will wear specially designed camouflage jerseys when they take on the Texas Stars at 7:00 p.m. at AT&T Center.
Tickets for Military Appreciation Night, and all remaining Rampage home games, start at $10 and can be purchased at the AT&T Center Southeast Box Office, by calling a Rampage representative at 210.444.5554 or online at sarampage.com.
