Public skate follows open practice Friday at Ricoh
March 15, 2006 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Toronto Marlies News Release
The Toronto Marlies, in conjunction with their front office staff, are preparing to welcome fans and students enjoying the March Break week to Ricoh Coliseum this Friday morning. The team will host an open practice starting at 11:00 a.m. where members of the public can sit in the Coliseum's seats and watch head coach Paul Maurice put his team through their paces before they depart for Grand Rapids, Michigan in the early afternoon. With Saturday's opponent representing a likely first-round playoff foe, the event is a unique opportunity to see a professional practice as the Marlies prepare to face the North Division leading Griffins on Saturday night at Van Andel Arena. The game will be broadcast on torontomarlies.com beginning at 7:00 p.m.
At the conclusion of the day's practice, there will be a flood at which time fans can begin tying their skates and later take to the fresh ice surface for fun and exercise. The ice will be available for the duration of the afternoon. Children under the age of 12 years old are highly recommended to wear a helmet. There is no entry cost for either activity.
For further information regarding this Friday's event, please visit the team's website at www.torontomarlies.com. The Marlies' next home date is this Wednesday evening when the team will take-on the Hamilton Bulldogs - AHL affiliate of the Montreal Canadiens - for the tenth time this season at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for this Wednesday, and all remaining regular-season Marlies' games, can be obtained by visiting www.torontomarlies.com/tickets.tm or by calling the Marlies' ticket office at 416-597-PUCK.
