Monsters add Jeff Campbell and Tyler Weiman

Lowell, Mass. - The Lowell Lock Monsters today announced the signing of C Jeff Campbell to a professional try-out (PTO) agreement. In addition, G Tyler Weiman has been reassigned to the Monsters by the Colorado Avalanche.

Campbell, 24, is in his second season as a pro, spending both with the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL. He was a teammate there of current Lock Monster Scott Kelman, who is currently also on a PTO with the club. Campbell stands at 5'9", 170-pounds, and he was on the cusp of striking the 30-goal barrier for the second time, with 29 goals so far on the season. His 46 assists and 75 points lead the Gladiators. The Hensall, Ontario, native has 62g-82a-144pts in 142 games as a pro. Campbell played four years of college hockey at Western Michigan University.

Weiman, 21, is serving his third stint with the team this season, while spending most of the campaign with the San Diego Gulls in the ECHL. He is 3-2-0 with a 2.88 goals against average and an..898 save percentage. Weiman has backstopped the Gulls in 32 games this year, posting a 14-12-2 record with a 2.81 GAA and a..910 save percentage with one shutout. Weiman was reassigned after Tom Lawson left Sunday's game with an injury and did not return.

The Lock Monsters have also submitted their Clear Day roster this week, for participating in the remainder of the regular season games and 2006 Calder Cup Playoffs, aside from certain conditions involving injury or recall. Teams may also add signed junior players or players on amateur tryout contracts, once their current junior or college season has been completed.

The Monsters have a pair of road games Friday (Springfield) and Saturday (Manchester at 2:00 p.m.) before hosting Manchester on Sunday, March 19th. Game time is 4:05 p.m., presented by Trinity Ambulance. That day is Guns ‘N Hoses Night with the Monsters. Doors will open at a special time, two hours before game time. Check out the battle on the ice between the Mass. State Police and the Manchester P.D. Plus, the first 1,500 fans will get a free Lock Monsters Guns ‘N Hoses puck! Sundays are Family Four Pack games, featuring 4 tickets, 4 scrumptious hot dogs and 4 refreshing Pepsis for just $49. In addition, everyone in attendance is welcome to hit the ice for a free post-game skate. Complimentary skate rental is available, or fans can bring their own to the game.
