Toronto, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs were defeated 5-2 by the Toronto Marlies on Wednesday night at Ricoh Coliseum.
Alexander Suglobov gave Toronto a 1-0 lead, scoring a power-play goal just 3:07 into the first period. Hamilton tied the game at 9:21 when Brad Winchester skated out from the corner and fired a backhand shot past Marlies netminder Todd Ford.
The Marlies regained the lead at the 3:35 mark of the second period when John Mitchell broke in alone. Halak made a sprawling pad save but Martin Sagat buried the rebound. Toronto took a two-goal lead at 8:59 when Steve Chabbert's shot deflected off Brad Leeb's skate and into the net.
