Pride release 2004-2005 schedule
May 25, 2004 - ECHL (ECHL)
Myrtle Beach Thunderboltz News Release
FLORENCE, SC â The Pee Dee Pride announced today the schedule for the 2004-2005 regular season. The 72-game season opens on Friday, October 22, with the Pride hosting the Roanoke Express.
Pee Dee opens the season with a three-game home stand, hosting Greensboro on Saturday, October 23, and Gwinnett on Tuesday, October 26.
The Pride's first road trip of the season takes them to the historic Cambria County War Memorial Arena in Johnstown, PA for a pair of games against the ECHL's lone remaining original team, the Johnstown Chiefs. Pee Dee and Johnstown square off on October 29 and October 30. The Chiefs make a return trip to Florence on January 21. Entering this season, the two teams have faced one another just two times in the Pride's first seven seasons in the league.
The Pride will take on each of their three South Carolina rivals (Columbia, Greenville and South Carolina) eight times each. Pee Dee also faces off eight times against the Charlotte Checkers.
The defending Eastern Conference champion Florida Everblades make two visits to the Lion's Den this season: December 4 and January 9.
Pride fans also will have their first opportunity to see the Texas Wildcatters. The second-year ECHL team pays a visit for a pair of games on January 13 and 14.
"It's always an exciting day when the schedule comes out, because it means that the season is right around the corner," Pride General Manager Jack Capuano said. "It's less than five months until October 22 and opening night against Roanoke. Hopefully our fans and the business community will share our excitement and rally behind the team.
"We have season ticket and sponsorship packages available for any budget that is out there, Capuano added. "This is the Pee Dee's team, and we hope that people from throughout the region will step up and support the team during the 2004-2005 season."
Game times for Pride home games are: Tuesday and Thursday at 7:00, Friday and Saturday at 7:30, Sundays at 2:30, and New Years' Eve at 6:00. These game times are subject to change.
Season tickets, flex plans and corporate partnerships for the 2004-2005 season are now available. For more information, or to place your order, visit the Pride office, located at the Florence Civic Center, or call (843) 669-7825.
