Chiefs Release 2004-2005 Schedule

Johnstown, PA- The Johnstown Chiefs announced today their playing schedule for the 2004-2005 season.

The Chiefs will open their seventeenth ECHL season on Saturday, October 23rd when they host the Wheeling Nailers. The Chiefs will play their first five regular season games at home. The Chiefs will play their last four regular season games at home with the finale on Saturday, April 9th vs. Atlantic City.

"It's always exciting when you get your schedule for the upcoming season. Almost all of our games are on the weekend which is great for families. Not to mention we get to see some of the West Coast teams this season. After the year we just had, our fans, staff and players are ready to get the 2004-2005 season underway," said Chiefs Vice-President and General Manager Jim Brazill.

Thirty-five of the Chiefs thirty-six home games will be played on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday with the lone week night game coming on November 24th, the day before Thanksgiving.

The Chiefs will play twelve out of division games this season compared to three in 2003-2004. Three teams will make their first ever appearance at the War Memorial this season as the Pacific Divison Bakersfield Condors (1/8/05), Fresno Falcons (1/1/05), and San Diego Gulls (2/5/05) all visit. The Long Beach Ice Dogs will also come to Johnstown on Saturday, November 27th. The Chiefs faced the Ice Dogs once last season (10/18/03) with Johnstown coming away with a 4-1 win.

Friday and Saturday night home games will begin at 7:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon games will begin at 3:00 p.m.. Due to the Super Bowl, the game time of the Sunday, February 6th game vs. Peoria will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 24th vs. Trenton will begin at 8:00 p.m. and New Years Eve vs. Toledo will be at 6:00 p.m.
