Roanoke Express News Release

ROANOKE, VA – The Roanoke Express has announced its 2004-2005 schedule. The season, which begins on October 22 and ends on April 9, will see the Express play 19 different opponents, including two its never faced before. The 2004-2005 version of the schedule includes 11 Friday night home games and 11 Saturday night home contests for the Express.

Roanoke begins its 12th season in the ECHL with a pair of road games in Pee Dee and Augusta on October 22 & 23 respectively. The Express kicks off its home schedule on Friday, October 29 when it hosts the Augusta Lynx. The Lynx remain in town for another tilt on Saturday, October 30. The two contests vs. Augusta are the first of eight straight at the Roundhouse for the Express, a home stand that stretches from Oct. 29 – Nov 18.

This season will feature some firsts for the Express. For the first time in team history, the Express plays against the Texas Wildcatters and the Mississippi Sea Wolves. For the second consecutive season, the Express hosts a former West Coast Hockey League team when the Bakersfield Condors visit the Roundhouse for a pair of games in December.

Along with the new opponents, the Express sees plenty of its old foes. Roanoke takes on Greensboro a total of 10 times this year, and skates against the Charlotte Checkers seven times. Despite a limited schedule against former Northern Division rivals, the Express will still see Atlantic City four times, Trenton three times and Reading once. The entire 2004-2005 Roanoke Express schedule follows.

Season tickets for the Roanoke Express are on sale now and may be purchased by either visiting the Express offices at 14 E. Campbell Ave. or by calling the offices at (540) 343-4500. Group outings and ticket voucher books can also be purchased for the 2004-2005 season.
