Mississippi Sea Wolves Release 2004-05 Schedule

BILOXI, Miss. – The Mississippi Sea Wolves of the ECHL announced its 72-game schedule for the 2004-05 regular season.

The Sea Wolves will open their ninth season with two straight home games. On Friday, October 22 Mississippi hosts the Louisiana IceGators and then welcomes the Pensacola Ice Pilots on Saturday, October 23 at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.

Mississippi plays 23 of 36 home games on the weekend, consisting of Friday (12), Saturday (8) and Sunday (3). The remainder of Sea Wolves home games will be played on Tuesday (6), Wednesday (2) and Thursday (5).

Mississippi's monthly breakdown features home games in October (4), November (7), December (5), January (5), February (6), March (8) and April (1).

The majority of the Sea Wolves home games, 21 of the 36, are against Central Division rivals including five contests against Louisiana, Pensacola and the Texas Wildcatters, while three games will be played versus the Augusta Lynx and Gwinnett Gladiators.

Gwinnett, Central Division Playoff Champion, travels to Mississippi on October 30, marking the first game between the teams since the 2004 Central Division Semifinals series, won by the Gladiators 3 games to 2.

Mississippi will play five opponents for the first time this season. The defending Kelly Cup Champion Idaho Steelheads make an appearance at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum on March 22. The Las Vegas Wranglers pay a visit on November 25 and the Reading Royals travel to Mississippi for games on December 28 and New Year's Eve, December 31. The Sea Wolves fly into Victoria, British Columbia, Canada for three games against the first-year Salmon Kings from December 10-13. Victoria is the first ECHL team based outside the United States. Mississippi also travels to Anchorage to face the Alaska Aces for three road games from December 17-19.

Other notable home games include back-to-back contests against the Florida Everblades, Eastern Conference Playoff Champion, on March 11 and 12. Charlotte Checkers visit the Wolves Den on December 22 for the first time since January 24, 1999. Roanoke Express will visit Mississippi on March 24 for the first time since February 23, 1997.

The longest Sea Wolves homestand of the season is four games from January 28 to February 4. The Greenville Grrrowl come in for games on January 28 and 29, Texas pays a visit on February 1 and Pensacola wraps up the homestand on February 4.

Mississippi's longest road trip lasts six games from December 10-19. The opening three games of the road swing will be played at Victoria and the trip wraps up with three contests at Alaska.
