Power Wins Back-and-Forth Affair

(Charleston, W.V. - July 17, 2015) - The West Virginia Power defeated the Lexington Legends 10-6 on Friday night at Appalachian Power Park. Pablo Reyes went 3-for-4 with three runs in the victory and the Power will honor its two-millionth fan on Saturday night.

Lexington tagged Power starter Austin Coley for two runs in the first inning but the Power climbed back to within a run in the bottom of the first inning. With Pablo Reyes on third, Jordan Luplow grounded out to short which gave the Power its first run of the night.

The Legends extended their lead to three in the third inning with a two-run home run by Brandon Downes, but the Power once again climbed back to within a run in the bottom of that inning. With Reyes on first, Luplow hit a double to deep center field to put two men in scoring position for Michael Suchy. Suchy drove in Reyes with a single up the middle and Luplow scored a batter later on a wild pitch.

West Virginia tied the game in the fifth and took its first lead of the night in the sixth. Reyes scored his third run of the night after he drew a walk and scored on a Suchy double which tied the game at four. In the sixth, Jerrick Suiter and Chase Simpson were each in scoring position when Trace Tam Sing delievered a two-run double to right-center and gave West Virginia a 6-4 lead. Cole Tucker capped off the three-run sixth with a double to score Tam Sing.

Lexington came back to within a run with a run in the seventh and eighth inning but the Power added three more runs offensively in the eighth. With Simpson on first and one out, Taylor Gushue clubbed a double to deep left center field to score Simpson. Gushue scored two batters later on an RBI double by Tucker and the 19-year-old scored moments later on a Pablo Reyes single to left.

Jose Regalado (4-4) picked up the win with three innings of one-run ball in relief while Colin Rodgers (2-7) took the loss. Nick Neumann notched his 12th save of the season to put him in sole possession of fifth place all-time in franchise history. Coley gave up four runs on six hits over four innings and received a no-decision.

Friday's game saw a crowd of 3,044 enter Appalachian Power Park and the West Virginia Power are 211 fans shy of reaching two-million. The two-millionth fan is expected to enter Saturday's game and it features a prize pack including two 2016 West Virginia Power Full Season Ticket Plans, four tickets to the Pittsburgh Pirates' August 22 game again San Francisco, one Luxury suite and four tickets for the Pirates' August 23 game at PNC Park, a Power baseball hat, personalized West Virginia Power Jersey, and a ceremonial first pitch on Saturday night.

Saturday's game also features postgame fireworks presented by V100 and the game will have the New River Gorge Bridge Replica giveaway to the first 1,000 fans thanks to Appalachian Power on Saturday night.
