TONIGHT'S MATCHUP

Kingham: Allowed 1 R on 4 H with 7 K and 2 BB over 5.1 IP in 6/17 Win vs. HAG (5-3 Power)

Martinez: Allowed 3 R on 3 H with 3 K and 3 BB over 5.1 IP on 6/07 Loss vs. LEX (4-1 Legends)

POWER REPLAY: West Virginia lost 9-3 on Sunday afternoon against Lexington. The Legends hit home runs in the second, third, sixth, and seventh innings to build an 8-0 lead. Trailing 9-0 in the ninth, the Power scored three times but could not overcome the deficit. Zack Von Rosenberg took the loss after allowing seven runs on eight hits. Jose Osuna drove in a pair in the ninth to key the short-lived rally.

SERIES SPLIT: The Power are 2-2 in the second half after a series split with the Legends. West Virginia has won three series this season,lost 15, and now split three times so far in 2012.

SEVENTH HEAVEN: Jose Osuna has hit safely in seven straight games dating back to June 15. The first baseman is batting .310 with nine hits over his last 29 at bats. This is his fourth hitting streak of six or more games this season.

NINE DAYS AWAY: West Virginia opens its' longest road trip of the season tonight at Lakewood. The club will play four games against the BlueClaws before traveling to Salisbury, MD, for a five game series against the Delmarva Shorebirds. 41 percent of West Virginia's second half schedule will be played against the BlueClaws and Shorebirds.

FIRST TIME AT FIRSTENERGY: Tonight marks the first time that the Power will play at FirstEnergy Park this season. West Virginia trails the all-time series 52-44 and have gone 18-21 on the road in the matchup since 2005. Of the 16 games remaining this season between West Virginia and Lakewood, seven will be played in New Jersey. The BlueClaws will be in Charleston for a five game series starting on July 4.

TRIPLE THE FUN: Alen Hanson had eight triples to lead the South Atlantic League in the first half and added one during the opening series of the second schedule. In 2011, Andy Vasquez set a new Charleston baseball SAL record with 13 three-base hits, including five by the All-Star break last year. With one more triple, Hanson will match four players for second most all-time in Charleston's 26-year SAL history dating back to 1987.

FOUR SCORE: On Thursday night, Taylor Lewis became the third Power player to drive in four runs in a game this season. Kirk Singer drove in four in his 2012 debut against Hagerstown on April 8, while Willy Garcia drove in four in a June 9 win at Asheville.

FIRST HALF RECAP: West Virginia finished the first half of the season with a 23-47 record, which was the lowest winning percentage (.329) in any half since the team became known as the Power in 2005. The club finished the first half with a .257 average (third best mark after the first 70 games) and a 5.28 ERA (highest ever after the first half). West Virginia went 16-18 at home and 7-29 away from Appalachian Power Park (fewest road wins by any team in the league in any half since 2005).

PROMO UPDATE- JULY 4: West Virginia's next BIG 12 promotional night is July 4 at 7:05 pm against Lakewood. The team will host appearances by Dora the Explorer, Spongebob Squarepants, and Foofa from Yo Gabba Gabba. The evening will end with a post game fireworks show.

POWER POINTS: Eric Avila has hit safely in each of his last five games... Willy Garcia's is hitless over his last six games... Nick Kingham did not face Lakewood during the clubs' only first half series.

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh lost 3-2 to Detroit. The Buccos took two of three from the Tigers and will open a four game series against the Phillies on the road tonight.. Indianapolis was shutout 4-0 by Scranton/ Wilkes-Barre... Altoona fell 15-4 to Akron... Bradenton's game was rained out for the second straight day... State College held off Mahoning Valley 6-5 to stay perfect at home.
