BEEN CAUGHT STEALIN': The Power have caught stealing or picked off 18 times this season, third most in the South Atlantic League. West Virginia base runners have attempted 34 stolen bases this season and have a league-low 16 steals for a 47% success rate. Asheville has 45 stolen bases to lead the league, while Savannah has a SAL-best success rate of 85%. Only Lakewood (31 times in 64 attempts) and Asheville (21 times in 66 attempts) have been caught more than West Virginia this season.

TOP OF THE ORDER TO YOU: Evan Chambers is currently on an eight game hitting streak dating back to April 26. The Power centerfielder is batting .357 during the streak, which has partially coincided to his move to the leadoff spot in the batting order. In 11 games since being elevated to the top spot, Chambers is batting .333 and has an on-base percentage of .500. In those 11 games, West Virginia is 6-5.

NOTHING & NADA: Power pitchers combined for their second shutout of the season on Tuesday night. West Virginia's other shutout occurred in the seventh game of the season; a 2-0 win at Charleston. The 2009 edition of the club completed seven shutouts, including the July 27 Hunter Strickland-Diego Moreno no-hitter against the RiverDogs. Five of the seven 2009 shutouts occurred at Appalachian Power Park, with the two road blankings happening at Lake County and Bowling Green.

HISTORY WITH THE 'HOPPERS: The Power won the 2009 season series with the Grasshoppers 9-5. West Virginia won six of eight games at Appalachian Power Park and split a six-game set at Greensboro. The Power have gone 24-12 since 2005 at home against the Grasshoppers, while winning 22 of 33 at NewBridge Bank Park in Greensboro.

POWER POINTS: Power pitchers compiled the seventh best ERA during the month of April at 3.80. Rome had a league-low staff earned run average of 2.71, while Asheville had the league's highest at 4.81... West Virginia is 10-0 when scoring five or more runs in a game this season... Hunter Strickland's seven inning start on Wednesday matched Kyle McPherson's April 26 outing at Kannapolis as the longest by any Power starter this season... Jarek Cunningham is hitless in his last five games (0-21 overall since fourth inning single on 4/26), while Bengie Gonzalez has been held with out a hit in his last six games (0-19 overall since fifth inning single on 4/29).

AROUND THE ORGANIZATION: Pittsburgh beat the Chicago Cubs 4-2. Ryan Church hit his second home run in as many days... Indianapolis did not play... Altoona edged Richmond 5-2... Bradenton blanked Palm Beach 5-0. Starling Marte drove in two of the five runs for the Marauders.

Adam Marco will call the action for each of the 70 home games this season, while the home team will provide coverage while the Power are on the road.
