Ian Gac's two-run homer in the top of the 10th inning gave the Kannapolis Intimidators an 8-6 victory over the Lexington Legends Thursday night at Applebee's Park.

The Legends had rallied from a 6-3 deficit to tie the game in the seventh inning.

In the 10th, Daniel Wagner led off with a single. He was sacrificed to second by Miguel Gonzalez. Kyle Colligan fouled out to first baseman Aaron Bray, but Gac followed with a drive over the wall in right center field for his fifth home run of the year.

The Legends took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on J.D. Martinez' two-run homer, his second home run in two games. Kannapolis scored a run in the second inning on doubles by Nick Ciolli and Brady Shoemaker. Shoemaker was 4-for-4 in the game with a homer and four RBI's.

The Intimidators went in front with three runs in the fourth inning. A single by Kyle Colligan, a double by Gac and a fielder's choice produced one run, and Shoemaker followed with a two-run homer to give Kannapolis a 4-2 advantage.

Bray's RBI double scored Andy Simunic in the bottom of the fifth to cut the lead to one, but Kannapolis scored twice in the sixth to take a 6-3 lead.

In the Legends' seventh, Jonathan Fixler led off with a double. After Bray struck out, Grant Hogue beat out an infield hit, sending Fixler to third. Jose Altuve walked to load the bases, and Jiovanni Mier singled to score Fixler. Hogue came home on Martinez' infield out, and Altuve scored the tying run on a wild pitch. The score remained 6-6 until Gac's homer in the tenth.

Brandon Kloess (1-0) got the win. Mike Modica (0-1) took the loss.

The Legends remain at home for a four-game series against Greensboro. First pitch Friday night is set for 7:05 p.m.
