Plekhanov Recalled from Elmira

Syracuse, NY (February 5, 2007) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that defenseman Andrei Plekhanov has been recalled from Elmira (ECHL).

Plekhanov, 21, has appeared in 26 games for the Crunch this season, notching 2 goals, 10 assists and 6 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in 5 games for Elmira this season, tallying 1 assist and 2 penalty minutes. A native of Nizhnekamsk, Russia, Plekhanov was drafted by Columbus in the third round, 96th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch's next game is Wednesday, February 6 as they travel to Rochester to take on the Americans.
