Canucks re-assign Brown to Moose; recall FitzGerald

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced they have re-assigned left winger Mike Brown to the Manitoba Moose. The Canucks have also recalled defenceman Zack FitzGerald.

Brown, 22, has played in 21 games so far this season with the Moose. In that time, the Northbrook, IL native has scored two goals and three points, as well as collected 102 penalty minutes. Brown made his NHL debut on Nov. 21/07 and scored his first NHL goal Dec. 2/07, both at Minnesota, bringing his NHL total to one goal and 55 penalty minutes in 19 games with the Canucks. In 156 career games with the Moose, Brown has scored 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points and 435 penalty minutes. Brown was originally Vancouver's fifth choice, 159th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.

FitzGerald, has never appeared in an NHL game yet in his career. The Two Harbors, MN native has played in 38 games so far this year for the Moose where he's scored four goals and collected 124 penalty minutes to lead the Moose this season. In 80 career AHL games with Manitoba and Peoria in his three-year pro career, FitzGerald has scored five goals and three assists for eight points as well as 257 penalty minutes.
