Aeros' goaltender Nolan Schaefer called up to Minnesota

St. Paul, Minn. - Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled goaltender Nolan Schaefer from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Schaefer, 28 (1/15/80), has been recalled to the Wild three times this season without appearing in a game. Schaefer, who represented the Aeros at the AHL All-Star Classic last month, is 16-11-0 with a 2.16 GAA and a .922 save percentage in 28 games for the Aeros this season. Schaefer is a 6-foot-2, 195-pound native of Yellow Grass, Sask. He was San Jose's fifth-round pick (No. 166 overall) in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. Minnesota signed Schaefer as a free agent on July 3, 2007. Schaefer is 5-1-0 with a 1.88 GAA in seven career NHL games - all with San Jose.
