Pitcher Frankie De La Cruz Activated from D.L.

Des Moines, IA - The Iowa Cubs activated right-handed pitcher Frankie De La Cruz from the disabled list today, and he will make his eighth start for Iowa against Albuquerque tonight. Right-handed pitcher Ty'Relle Harris was assigned to Double-A Tennessee today.

De La Cruz went on the disabled list with a left quad strain on June 6.

The 28-year-old Dominican import is 1-1 with a league-leading 2.66 ERA (14 ER/47.1 IP) in 14 appearances with Iowa this season. The Chicago Cubs claimed De la Cruz off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewer on March 16.

Harris holds an 0-1 record and a 1.69 ERA (1 ER/5.1 IP) in two appearances with Iowa this season. The California native was assigned to Iowa from Tennessee on June 8, and is 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA (2 ER/6.0 IP) in four appearances with the Smokies.

The Iowa Cubs host the Albuquerque Isotopes for game two of a four-game set tonight at Principal Park. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
