Zephyrs and Birds Split Twilight Twin-Bill

MEMPHIS, Tennessee - The Zephyrs and Redbirds split a doubleheader on Friday evening with the Zephyrs winning game one 5-2 and losing the night cap 10-3.

Nick Green and Clint Sammons each had a pair of RBI in the Zephyrs 5-2 victory. Wade LeBlanc earned the win pitching five and a third innings. Chris Hatcher worked the final inning for his third save of the season. Tyler Lyons pitched a complete game loss for Memphis in his Triple-A debut.

Former Tulane star Mark Hamilton had a pair of solo home runs in game two to help lead the Redbirds to a 10-3 victory over the Zephyrs. Memphis scored three first inning runs off of starter Elih Villanueva. New Orleans rallied in the fourth inning scoring a pair of runs on a Chase Lambin triple.

The Zephyrs trailed by a run in the fifth when Memphis scored a pair of runs. Eugenio Velez hammered a three run home run to centerfield for insurance in the sixth inning. Villanueva took the loss and Brian Broderick earned the win for Memphis.

The Redbirds lead the five game series 2-1.
