Pink in the Rink Jersey Auction Helps Fight Breast Cancer

North Charleston, SC -The South Carolina Stingrays, proud ECHL affiliate of the Washington Capitals, announced today that the team's Pink in the Rink jersey auction following the sixth annual Pink in the Rink game presented by East Cooper Medical Center on Saturday, February 25 generated over $24,000 to fight breast cancer. The Stingrays defeated the Gwinnett Gladiators 5-2 in front of 6,114 at the North Charleston Coliseum.

A total of 24 jerseys were auctioned off at the end of the game with the highest bid coming for Captain Matt Scherer's jersey at $2,600. Forward Maxime Lacroix ($1,700), goaltender Philipp Grubauer ($1,400), and defensemen Johann Kroll ($1,200) and Zach Tarkir ($1,200) were among the other top jerseys.

Proceeds from the auction benefit the Susan G. Komen Lowcountry foundation to fight breast cancer.

The Stingrays return to action Wednesday, February 29 against the Gladiators at 7:05 p.m. at The Arena at Gwinnett Center. Tuesday, March 6 is 2-for-1 Ticket Night with the Stingrays!
