
Thunder Hosting Third Annual Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament on Thursday

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, a two-time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," is scheduled to host its third annual Texas Hold 'Em Poker Tournament at Stockton Arena on Thursday, Mar. 1, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
The tournament invites avid and casual poker players to visit Stockton Arena for a night of friendly competition and take advantage of the opportunity to go head to head against Thunder players, who will be available for autographs and photos throughout the night.
Registration is $125 per person and includes ten tickets to an upcoming Thunder home game, tournament t-shirt, Thunder hat, complimentary dinner and non-alcoholic beverage service and full cash bar. Participants will also receive an autographed copy of "All In," donated to the tournament and written by 2007 World Series of Poker champion and Madera, Calif. native Jerry Yang.
All participants will start the tournament at a table accompanied by one Thunder player.
Prizes will be awarded during the tournament which include four lower level tickets to a San Jose Sharks game, a Thunder jersey autographed by the team, pre-game "Meet and Greet" with a Thunder player, complimentary suite to a Thunder game, Zamboni ride during a Thunder home game, V.I.P. access on the Thunder bench during pregame warm ups and more.
ABOUT JERRY YANG
Jerry Yang, a resident of Madera, Calif., earned national fame as the 2007 World Series of Poker Champion by turning $225 into more than $8.2 million, defeating Tuan Lam heads-up to grab the WSOP bracelet in the main event on ESPN. He proceeded to turn ten percent of the earnings to several charities including the Make-a-Wish Foundation, Feed the Children and Ronald McDonald House. Born in Laos and carrying a Masters Degree in Health Psychology, he earned a fifth place finish and $75,000 at the 2010 NBC National Heads-Up Poker Championship. He continues to donate a percentage of his winnings and participate in charity tournaments.
Registration is open on a first come, first serve basis, and can be submitted by calling the Thunder at (209) 373-1502. Fans are invited to register as a "walk up" participant and the general public is invited to observe, free of charge.
