Fienhage and MacKenzie Assigned to Gwinnett

Defensemen Corey Fienhage and Matt MacKenzie have been assigned to the Gladiators from the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League.

Fienhage returns to the Gladiators after he earned four points, all assists, in 17 game with the Americans this year. He has recorded eight points (three goals, five assists) this season in 19 games with Gwinnett.

A rookie this season, Fienhage earned 14 points (four goals, 10 assists) last season with the Kamloops Blazers of the Western Hockey League. He also appeared in four games with Portland of the AHL last year but did not register a point. Fienhage was selected by the Buffalo Sabres with the 81st overall pick in the 3rd round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.

MacKenzie has earned three points, all assists, in 15 games with the Americans this year. He has also recorded 11 penalty minutes and posted a +1, plus/minus rating with Rochester.

The New Westminster, British Columbia native skated four years in the Western Hockey League with the Calgary Hitmen and the Tri-City Americans from 2007-2011. He earned 98 points (18 goals, 80 assists) in 225 career junior games. Mackenzie was selected by the Buffalo Sabres with the 83rd overall pick in the 3rd roung of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.

The Gladiators are the ECHL Affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres and the Phoenix Coyotes of the National Hockey League and are members of the ECHL, the Premier "AA" Hockey League and play all home games at the 11,355-seat Arena at Gwinnett Center, located just off I-85 on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth.
