Pigs Look to Bounce Back against Knights

The Lehigh Valley IronPigs will look to bounce back on Saturday night when they take on the Charlotte Knights. First pitch at BB&T Ballpark is set for 7:05 p.m.

LHP Anthony Vasquez (1-1, 5.68) will be on the bump for the Pigs. In his last start, the USC product was tagged with the loss after getting charged with three runs on three hits while fanning two in one plus innings of work at Gwinnett on Monday. The game was suspended in the top of the second inning due to rain and not resumed until 48 hours later.

RHP Erik Johnson (4-3, 4.60) gets the start for Charlotte. On Monday vs. Columbus, Johnson was dealt the loss as he surrendered six runs (five earned) on seven hits to go along with three walks and six strikeouts over 4.1 IP. Over his last 5 GS, the right-hander is 1-2 with a 6.39 ERA (25.1 IP, 18 ER).

After going 3-4 on Friday, Pigs INF Cord Phelps has now hit safely in 11 of his last 14 games. Phelps is hitting .357 (15-42)-0-1 with a double, seven runs scored and three walks in that span. Friday also marked the first three-hit game of the season for the Stanford product.
