Penguins Reassign Defenseman Patrick Boileau to W-B/S

WILKES-BARRE, PA. - The Pittsburgh Penguins have reassigned defenseman Patrick Boileau to their American Hockey League affiliate, the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, The announcement was made today by Penguins' General Manager Craig Patrick.

Boileau, 28, appeared in 16 games with the Penguins, recording seven points (3+4) and eight penalty minutes. He was recalled from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on November 18th.

The 6'0", 200-pound native of Montreal, Quebec has appeared in 48 career NHL games with the Penguins, Detroit and Washington, recording 16 points (5+11) and 26 penalty minutes.

Boileau has appeared in 13 games this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, recording eight assists and 16 penalty minutes. At the time of his call-up, he was tied for fifth on the team in scoring.

He is expected to be in the lineup tomorrow night as the Penguins (17-14-4-4, 42 pts; Fourth-place, East Division, Eastern Conference) begin a six-game homestand tomorrow night against the Toronto Roadrunners (12-19-6-2, 32 points; 7TH -Place, North Division, Western Conference).

The game, which will be televised live on Adelphia 63, WNEP-TV's 24-Hour News Channel, will be the first-ever meeting between the Penguins and Roadrunners (AHL affiliate of the NHL's Edmonton Oilers).

The first 3,500 fans in attendance tomorrow night will receive a set of Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins trading cards, courtesy of Northeastern Pennsylvania Highmark BlueShield.

Approximately 200 tickets are still available for the game. Tickets can be purchased at the Wachovia Arena Box Office and all Ticketmaster locations and telephone outlets.
