Barons Reassign Bootland and Watson

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Barons today announced that left wing Nick Bootland and defenseman Dan Watson were reassigned to Kalamazoo (UHL). Wayne Thomas, General Manager of the Barons, made the announcement.

Bootland and Watson were members of the Columbus Stars, formerly of the UHL. Columbus ceased operations on Friday, January 9th, making their players free agents. Under contract with the Barons, the team reassigned both Bootland and Watson.

Nick Bootland has appeared in one game with the Cleveland Barons this season. In that game, Bootland recorded a goal and a +1 plus/minus rating. With Columbus, Bootland was tied for 14th in UHL scoring in 34 games, recording 38 points on 21 goals and 17 assists.

Bootland has appeared in at least one game with the Barons in each of their three seasons in Cleveland. In his three seasons with the Barons, the sixth-year professional has appeared in 21 games registering 3 goals and 3 assists for 6 points.

In two stints with Cleveland this season, Dan Watson has recorded 1 assist in 9 games. Watson was third on Columbus with a +6 plus/minus rating in 23 games. In that time, Watson scored one goal and six assists.

Watson has played with the Barons in portions of the last two seasons. He was acquired on loan last season on February 28th from the Syracuse Crunch. In 17 games with the Barons in 2002-03, Watson scored 2 goals and 4 assists, while accumulating 12 penalty minutes.
