Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
The Penguins will be taking part in several events to help brighten the lives of children throughout the area during the holiday season.
CARKS' KIDS: Penguins defenseman Matt Carkner has instituted a program among the players called CARKS' KIDS. Working through the United Way, Carkner and his teammates will be spreading cheer to 19 kids at the Kirby Family House in Wilkes-Barre.
Carkner asked each child (and his/her family) to provide a list of three wants and three needs. Players on the team, as well as members of the coaching/training staff, were then assigned a child by Carkner and asked to fill all of the needs and as many wants as possible.
