Rochester Americans News Release
Game Notes: Tonight, the Rochester Americans battle the Syracuse Crunch at 7:35 p.m. at The Blue Cross Arena at the Rochester War Memorial. The game will be the third of eight scheduled meetings between the thruway rivals this season. The 7:35 p.m. contest will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280-AM WHTK, whtk.com and B2 Networks.
Head-to-Head: The Amerks are 1-1-0-0 in 2006-07 and are 71-52-15 all-time against the Crunch. In their last meeting on October 29th, the Amerks eked out a 2-1 shootout-win. Michael Ryan netted Rochester's only goal in regulation while Jean-Marc Pelletier picked up the win in net, his first of the season.
Rochester Notes: The Amerks are currently on a two-game winning streak after sweeping a series against the Manitoba Moose earlier this week. Rochester (18-4-1-0) leads the AHL with 37 points. Clarke MacArthur has six goals and 10 assists in his last 11 games. With his team-leading 25 points (10+15), the speedy left wing is well on his way to matching the 21 goals and 32 assists he put up one season ago. Mark Mancari has five points (4+1) in his last five games, and 13 points (7+6) in his last 11 games. Despite splitting time at forward and defense this season, Mancari has not experienced any lack of production around the net. The London, Ontario native is second in scoring for the Amerks this season with nine goals and 10 assists. Amerks forwards Rob Globke, Drew Larman and Daniel Paille were recalled to the NHL last week and have remained with their respective NHL clubs.
Crunch Notes: Syracuse (6-15-0-1, 13 points) enters the game in sixth place in the North Division. The Crunch have dropped five of their last seven games, but defeated the Toronto Marlies 4-2 at Ricoh Coliseum last Saturday. Joe Motzko is riding a six-game point streak (4+3). On Thursday, Syracuse enforcer Brandon Sugden announced his retirement. That same day, the Columbus Blue Jackets reassigned defenseman Filip Novak to Syracuse.
Next Game: The Amerks host the Hamilton Bulldogs on Saturday, December 9th in a 7:35 p.m. contest at The Blue Cross Arena. The game will be the second of 10 scheduled contests between the teams this season. Fans can pick up a coupon for $5 off a $15 ticket to the game at participating Advance Auto Part stores this week. The 7:35 p.m. contest will be broadcast live on Hot Talk 1280-AM WHTK, whtk.com and B2 Networks. After the game, fans can head down to Nathaniel's Pub (251 Exchange Blvd.) for the Labatt Postgame Party.
