Abbotsford Heat News Release
It was one of the most successful charitable events of their inaugural season so once again this year, the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights will host The Teddy Bear Toss sponsored by Holiday Inn Central Convention Center on Saturday, December 16th when the Knights play the Iowa Stars at 7:00 p.m. All of the bears collected from the event will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Nebraska.
"We had great success with The Teddy Bear Toss during our first season, and we're hoping to collect even more bears this year," said Ren Smith, Knights' President. "We are grateful to the Holiday Inn Central for its sponsorship of the event. We look forward to having a positive impact on the mission of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Nebraska."
Fans are invited to bring a brand new Teddy Bear to the game. They also will be able to purchase the bears at the game. When the Knights score their first goal of the game, fans are invited to throw the bears on the ice. They will be collected and donated to Make-A-Wish. Last season, the Knights collected more than 1,300 Teddy Bears.
