VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. â The American Hockey League (AHL) announced today that right wing Mike Peluso of the Norfolk Admirals has been selected to the PlanetUSA All-Star Team for the 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic.
The Bismarck, ND, native is in his fifth professional season, his second with the Admirals. Peluso currently leads Norfolk with 19 assists and 31 points (12 goals), and registered a franchise-high 10-game points streak earlier this season (4+10=14 points from October 30 to November 20). He had been named to the 2001 AHL All-Star team, but was unable to compete due to an injury.
The 2003 Dodge AHL All-Star Classic, which will take place at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland, ME, begins with the 2003 Pepsi AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Sunday, February 2 at 8:00 p.m. EST. The 2003 AHL All-Star Game will be held the following night at 7:00 p.m. EST and will be televised live in the United States and Canada.
The PlanetUSA team will be comprised of players born in the United States and Europe, and will compete against a team of Canadian All-Stars. The Canadian team roster will be announced on Friday.
