Bulldogs Now Unbeaten in 14 Games

Hamilton Bulldogs News Release


The Hamilton Bulldogs extended their unbeaten streak to fourteen consecutive games as they defeated the Binghamton Senators (Ottawa Senators AHL affiliate) 5-2 in front of 6,161 fans at Copps Coliseum on Thursday night.

The Bulldogs are now 22 games above the .500 mark with a record of 28 wins, 6 losses, 3 ties and 2 overtime losses. Hamilton is the first team in the AHL this season to surpass the 60 point mark, as they now have 61.

Leading the way offensively for the Bulldogs was Mariusz Czerkawski who recorded 4 assists on the night. Scoring Hamilton's goals were Marcel Hossa (2), Marc-Andre Bergeron, Jani Rita and Chad Hinz. Replying with goals for the Senators were Jason Spezza and Brad Smyth.

Bulldogs' goaltender Eric Fichaud played his first game since a 3-0 shutout win in Grand Rapids on December 13th. Fichaud made 28 saves in the Hamilton victory. Ray Emery stopped 34 shots in the Senators loss.

The Bulldogs will be seeking their eleventh straight road win as they travel to Albany to face the River Rats on Friday night. Bulldogs' fans can listen to all the excitement, as Derek Wills and Al Craig call all the action beginning with the pre-game show at 6:45 p.m.
