MYRTLE BEACH, SC - Myrtle Beach pitchers Paul Blackburn, Brad Markey, Juan Paniagua and James Pugliese shutout the Mudcats offense for the second time in three games and helped lead the Pelicans to a series clinching 5-0 win at TicketReturn.Com Field in Myrtle Beach on Monday night.

Seth Webster (L, 4-6, 3.27) started for the Mudcats (43-45, 9-10) and took the loss after allowed five earned runs on 10 hits over five and 2/3 innings pitched. Jacob Rogers was 3-for-4 with three run scoring hits and three RBI against Webster. He drove in one run in the Pelicans' first, one more in the third and brought in another with a pop up double to center in the fifth. Center fielder Keith Curcio lost Rogers' fly ball in the night sky in the fifth. The pop up would have been the third out in the inning.

Mauricio Cabrera pitched the remainder of the game after Webster left in the sixth. Cabrera stranded an inherited runner in the sixth and pitched two and 1/3 innings with a walk and three strikeouts.

Myrtle Beach (49-39, 8-11) led 2-0 after the first, 3-0 after the third and added runs across the fifth and sixth while taking a 5-0 lead. Webster left in the sixth after allowing two hits and one run in the inning. He was removed from the game after retiring Carlos Penalver on a liner back to the mound.

Blackburn pitched three scoreless innings and allowed just two Carolina hits in his first game back off the disabled list. Markey (W, 1-0, 0.84) replaced Blackburn in the fourth and pitched though the middle of the eighth with just two hits allowed. He struck out four and faced just one over the minimum over four and 2/3 innings and earned his first win. Paniagua pitched the end of the eighth and Pugliese worked the ninth for Myrtle Beach in the win.

The Mudcats were held without a hit with runners in scoring position in the loss and left Connor Lien at third in the first. Lien was 1-for-3 in the game and picked up his team best 21st stolen base of the season.

Carolina stranded four men on base and finished 1-for-20 with runners in scoring position across all four games of the series.
