The Mudcats enter tonight's finale with the Pelicans down 2-1 in the four game set and 3-3 on their current seven game road trip. RHP Seth Webster gets the start tonight for Carolina and he looks to lead them to a series split in the four game series. Webster last pitched on 7/8 against in Salem and earned his first win since mid-June after holding the Red Sox to two runs and eight hits over 6.2 innings pitched. He snapped a personal three game losing streak with the victory and struck out season high eight batters. Since his Carolina League debut on May 23, Webster is 6th in the league in earned run average (2.85 ERA) and 1st in innings pitched (53.2ip). Webster enters tonight's start 4-5 with a 2.83 ERA over nine starts this season with the Mudcats. He has struck out 39 and walked only three this season over 60.1 innings pitched. He walked two batters on 5/29 against the Pelicans, but has walked only one batter since.
Tonight's doubleheader begins at 7:05 p.m. at TicketReturn.Com Field in Myrtle Beach, SC and will air on the Mudcats Radio Network with the pre game show beginning at 6:50 p.m.
