OF Derek Miller to DL, Franklin Guzman Activated

The Salem Red Sox have placed OF Derek Miller on the disabled list and activated OF Franklin Guzman from the disabled list. Guzman is active for tonight's game in Frederick and will wear number 28.

Miller was injured diving for a ball in left field during the third inning of Salem's 3-2 victory over Frederick on Saturday. He was replaced by Yoilan Cerse and has not appeared in a game since. The 2014 23rd round pick has appeared in 14 games with Salem and is batting .186 with a double, two RBI, 10 runs scored, 10 walks and a .352 on base percentage. He joined Salem after the All-Star break and was the stating left fielder for the South Division in the South Atlantic League All-Star Game.

Guzman has been disabled since June 11, his second stint on the DL this season after beginning the season there. In 23 games this season, he is batting .203 with three home runs and 13 RBI. He has the Sox only grand slam to date, coming on June 9 in game one of a doubleheader with the Lynchburg Hillcats. 

The Red Sox roster contains the league maximum of 25 players with four on the disabled list.
