
Pats No Match for Blades in 6-1 Loss

Regina, Sask. - The Saskatoon Blades scored on their first three shots of the game and never looked back in a 6-1 win over the Regina Pats Saturday night at the Brandt Centre. The Blades' depth showed as six different players notched goals in the win.
Jordan Keller (sixth), Aidan De La Gorgendiere (eighth), Tanner Molendyk (third), Brandon Lisowsky (19th), Connor Roulette (14th), and Trevor Wong (11th) were the Blades goal scorers. Ethan Chadwick only faced 15 shots and stopped 14 of them in the win.
Easton Armstrong scored the lone goal for the Pats who have now lost their last two contests heading into the holiday break. Drew Sim who was left hung out to dry at times, stopped 24 of 30 shots directed his way in the loss.
THE GOALS
First Period
SAS 0-1 at 1:21 - Jordan Keller (6), assisted by Connor Roulette and Blake Gustafson // Roulette carried the puck directly in front of Sim fought off a defenceman, sent a pass toward the front of the net and Keller tipped it by Sim to give the Blades a 1-0 lead early.
SAS 0-2 at 2:39 - Aidan De La Gorgendiere (8), assisted by Trevor Wong and Vaughan Watterodt (PP) // With the Pats on an early penalty kill, the Blades worked the puck to the point and De La Gorgendiere beat Sim with a long slap shot from the point to give the Blades a 2-0 lead before the game was three minutes old.
SAS 0-3 at 8:58 - Tanner Molendyk (3), assisted by Connor Roulette and Charlie Wright (PP) // The Blades worked the puck around on the powerplay and Molendyk beat Sim with a one-timer from the circle to give the Blades a 3-0 lead.
REG 1-3 at 12:58 - Easton Armstrong (12), assisted by Tanner Howe and Alexander Suzdalev (5-on-3 PP) // Suzdalev and Howe work the puck deep on a 5-on-3 powerplay and Howe found Armstrong in front of the net and he one-timed it through Chadwick to get the Pats on the board down 3-1.
SAS 1-4 at 15:00 - Brandon Lisowsky (19), assisted by Trevor Wong // The Blades broke in on a two-on-one, and Wong teed it up for Lisowsky who ripped a one-timer past Sim to extend their lead to 4-1.
Second Period

Third Period
SAS 1-5 at 5:33 - Connor Roulette (14), assisted by Aidan De La Gorgendiere and Player // A point shot from De La Gorgendiere was tipped by Roulette past a screened Sim to give the Blades a 5-1 lead.
SAS 1-6 at 12:24 - Trevor Wong (11), assisted by Erot Sidorov and Charlie Wright // Wong found himself alone in front and beat Sim with a wrist shot to give the Blades a 6-1 lead.

After returning to the line-up in Moose Jaw last night, 2003 F Zack Stringer played in his first game at the Brandt Centre since April 1, 2022.
Tanner Howe has 19 points (11G-8A) in his last 11 games (11G-7A-17PTS).
Alexander Suzdalev added an assist and now has 34 points (14G-20A) in his last 20 games and extended his point streak to 10 games.
Drew Sim has lost his last two starts.
After going 0/7 on the powerplay in their last three games, the Pats finally scored with the man advantage as they went 1-3.
UP NEXT
The Pats will now enjoy their Christmas break and return to action on Wednesday, December 28th to face-off with the Brandon Wheat Kings to open the second half of their season.
