During that powerplay Brett Hyland would score his 7th goal in 7 games to get the Wheat Kings on the board, then only 29 seconds later Luke Shipley would tie it up with a shot from the point to make it 2-2 after 40 minutes of play.

The Wheat Kings would take their first lead of the hockey game only 62 seconds into the 3rd period when Calder Anderson found a streaking Brett Hyland coming off the bench. Hyland would score his 2nd of the game to make it 3-2. The Ice would get the equalizer with Zach Benson collecting a loose puck off a Wheat King skate beating Nick Jones forcing overtime.

In overtime the Wheat Kings would cough up the puck allowing Owen Pederson to skate away on a breakaway, forward Calder Anderson would hustle back with a diving poke check, Nick Jones would make the save but Anderson would slide into the net along with the puck.
