Patrick Wellar's Halloween Costume Heads to Hockey Hall of Fame

West Valley City, Utah - The Skeleton Halloween Costume worn by Grizzlies defenseman Patrick Wellar on Friday, October 31 has been requested by the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto and will be headed there for immediate display.

On October 31, the Grizzlies teamed up with Coors and St. Jude Children's Hospital to wear Halloween costumes that included the hockey jersey, shell and socks to form one skeleton costume. The costumes received worldwide attention through media and social networks.

The Wellar jersey was purchased by Grizzlies season ticket holders Dave and Deb Hersom to send to the Hall of Fame.

A veteran of over 600 professional games, Wellar is in his first season with the Grizzlies and has won four professional championships over the course of his career with three coming in the ECHL and one in the AHL. He is also the team's Player/Assistant Coach.

Back Home

The Grizzlies return home Tuesday, November 11 for a Veterans Day game at 7 p.m. presented by Security Services Federal Credit Union. Veterans and active military with ID will be admitted to the game for free.

Next Home Weekend

The Grizzlies are back home for weekend action Friday, November 14 and Saturday, November 15 with Ontario. The 15th is Angel's Hands Night and the Grizzlies will wear specialty jerseys that will be auctioned off for the Angel's Hands Foundation after the game.
