Gladiators to Participate in Movember

November 4, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL)
Atlanta Gladiators News Release

DULUTH, Ga. - The Gladiators are proud to announce they will participate in Movember for the third consecutive year. As a part of the month's activities, the players and staff of the Gladiators organization will be growing mustaches and raising funds for the global Movember Foundation.

Movember began in Australia back in 2003 as a joke among friends, but soon began collecting donations that went to various programs that focused on men's health issues like prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health. In all, over $559 million have been raised for charity via the Movember Foundation.

The Gladiators will do their part by growing mustaches of their own and asking for the community's support. Visit www.moteam.co/gwinnett-gladiators to donate towards' the Gladiators Movember team page.

In addition to that, the organization will have other fundraisers, centered around the third annual "Stache Bash" on Sunday, November 16. Fans can auction for a special blue-taped, blue-painted player stick that will be autographed by the entire team and used during the "Stache Bash" game. 2014 Movember blue shirts will also be available throughout the entire month. Proceeds from both the stick and the shirts will go towards the Movember Foundation.

Fans will have the chance to get involved in the month through Gladiators social media. The Gladiators Nation can vote throughout the month for whom they think has the best mustache among the players and staff on Facebook. Fans can also grow their own mustaches, submit them to hockey@gwinnettgladiators.com, and appear on the big screen during our Stache Bash game!

For tickets and schedule information, visit the official team website at www.gwinnettgladiators.com or call the main office line at 770-497-5100.
