P-Bruins Fall To Monarchs 2-0

Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins fell to the Manchester Monarchs 2-0 Friday evening in front of 9,116 at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The P-Bruins return home to the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for Kid's Hat Night against the Springfield Falcons.

After a scoreless first and second period, the Monarchs took a 1-0 advantage at the 6:15 mark of the third period, while on the power play. Geoff Walker tallied his fourth goal of the season, with Justin Azevedo and Alec Martinez picking up the assists. Manchester finished off the scoring at the 19:48 mark with an empty net shorthanded goal. Jon Rheault netted his first goal of the season, while Andrew Campbell recorded the lone assist. The Monarchs went on to the 2-0 victory.

Dany Sabourin stopped 23 of 24 shots for the P-Bruins, while Jonathan Bernier made 34 saves for the Monarchs. The P-Bruins were 0-for-3 on the power play and 5-for-6 on the penalty kill.

Providence plays their only road game of the weekend Saturday at the MassMutual Center against the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. The P-Bruins wrap up the week at The Dunk Sunday at 4:05 p.m. for Kid's Hat Night against the Falcons.
