GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.---Goaltender Peter Mannino thwarted all 32 shots he faced as he backstopped the Chicago Wolves to a 3-0 victory against the Grand Rapids Griffins at Van Andel Arena Friday night.

Mannino's (13-3-0) effort gave the Wolves their first shutout win of the season while right wings Joey Crabb (2G) and Spencer Machacek lit the lamp for Chicago (28-17-0-2).

Crabb broke open the scoring at 14:47 of the second period. With time expiring on the power play, defenseman Paul Postma one-timed a shot from the point that rebounded off the backboards to the far side of the net. From behind the goal line, Crabb reached his stick around and slammed in the puck past Griffins netminder Daniel Larsson for the 1-0 lead.

Machacek made the lead two when he slipped in a rebound past Larsson. Center Kevin Doell took a shot from the slot that rebounded out in front of the net and Riley Holzapfel poked the puck across the goalmouth to Machacek, who squeaked it in for the goal.

Larsson (13-15-1) posted xx saves for Grand Rapids (21-25-0-1).

Crabb rounded out the scoring with an empty net goal at 19:52 of the final frame.

The Wolves head back to the Allstate Arena tomorrow where they will take on the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7 p.m.
