Otters Seek Seventh Straight Series Win

The first place Evansville Otters (15-7) will play the final game of the series at the Lake Erie Crushers (10-13) tonight. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 pm EDT from All Pro Freight Stadium in Avon, Ohio.
The Otters will send left-hander Matt Zielinski (2-0, 1.58 ERA) to the mound against righty Matt Smith (2-0, 3.56). Zielinski enters the game after a near one-hit, 15 strikeout complete game shutout against the Florence Freedom last Friday.
Evansville outfielder Nick Schwaner has hit safely in seven straight games as catcher John Nester is currently in the midst of a six game hitting streak.
Otters outfielder C.J. Henry has reached base in a Frontier League high 18 games.
Evansville has never won a series at Lake Erie dating back to the Crushers expansion season of 2009. The Otters also seek their seventh straight series win and hope to maintain the Frontier League's best overall record.
