Offense Goes Quiet in 4-1 Loss to Miners

The Rockford Aviators (4-19) were held in check offensively all night long by Blake Nation as they dropped the rubber match of a three game series against Southern Illinois (12-12) in Marion, 4-1.
The Aviators got their only run of the night when Eric Bainer singled in Matt Greener in the top of the ninth inning.
Drew Rucinski pitched a quality start (six innings, three runs), but he didn't get any offensive help tonight - something he is unfortunately becoming too familiar with this season. In his four losses this year, He has received a combined seven runs of support. His only win of the season was a 2-0 shut out.
Rockford comes home to host the Lake Erie Crushers for a quick weekend series. Rockford's Trevor Harden and Lake Erie's Matt Rein are scheduled to square off at 7:05 Friday night. As with all Friday night home games, there will be post-game fireworks.
