
Aviators Qualify for 2015 Frontier League Postseason

The Rockford Aviators have qualified for the 2015 Frontier League Postseason! The team will be seeded 6th and will face the Traverse City Beach Bums in Traverse City in the 1-game first round playoff on Tuesday at 7:05 ET/6:05 CT.
The squad played its final regular season game at Joliet on Sunday, turning in a gutsy performance before ultimately falling to Joliet by a final of 4-3 in 12 innings. Tony Rizzotti struck out 9 over 7 ? pitched, and the Aves got RBIs from Devon Rodriguez and Anthony Renteria but ultimately fell just short in their quest for their 50th win. The team finishes the regular season at 49-47.
The Aviators finished 5-1 vs. Traverse City in the regular season and were 2-1 at Wuerfel Park. The Beach Bums finished the season with a record of 56-38. The winner of the 1-game playoff will face off against the Southern Illinois Miners in a 3-game set starting on Thursday.
