Fort Wayne, IN - Fort Wayne TinCaps RHP Stiven Osuna was named the Midwest League Pitcher of the Week on Monday. Saturday against Quad Cities, he struck out a career-high ten in six one-hit innings.
Since returning from the bullpen, Osuna has won all five of his starts (5-0, 1.01 ERA), working 26.2 innings and allowing just three runs on 14 hits, nine walks and 24 strikeouts.
This is the fifth weekly award the TinCaps have won in 2009.
The TinCaps finish a six-game homestand tonight at 6:05pm against the Quad Cities River Bandits (Class-A St. Louis Cardinals). First, the teams will complete a suspended game which began Sunday; the game is slated for nine innings. Then, the TinCaps and River Bandits will play a seven-inning game approximately 30 minutes following the end of Game 1.
