TOLEDO, OHIO - While the Omaha Storm Chasers outhit the Toledo Mud Hens by three, the series evened at one hit each as Toledo took Wednesday's game 8-2 over Omaha.

Omaha collected 13 hits with eight of nine hitters in the lineup recording a base knock and four multi-hit games, but the offense combined to leave 15 runners on base to tie a season-high, while going just 2-for-18 with runners in scoring position.

The Mud Hens jumped out to a 2-0 lead, scoring runs in the first and second off opener Will Klein and left-hander Drew Parrish. Parrish settled into a groove after allowing a leadoff home run in the second and went on to retire his next six batters, including at one point three straight strikeouts.

Nick Loftin opened the third inning with a solo homer, his 13th of the season, then Edward Olivares singled home Clay Dungan in the fourth to tie the score at 2-2.

The tie game did not last long, as Parrish surrendered another homer to open the bottom of the fourth and Toledo led the rest of the night. The Mud Hens tagged Parrish for three more runs in the sixth to knock him out of the game and added two more against reliever Joe Barlow in the seventh inning, moving the score to the 8-2 that held to be final.

Christian Chamberlain threw a scoreless eighth, his sixth outing without allowing an earned run in his last seven, but Omaha couldn't add any more offensively.

After leaving the bases loaded in the first, Omaha left two runners on in the second, third and fifth innings. In the remaining four frames of the game, the Chasers left the inning with one runner on base.

Dungan finished the day 3-for-5 while Olivares, John Rave and Nate Eaton each contributed two-hit games and Loftin drew a pair of hits in addition to his home run.

The Storm Chasers will try and bounce back Thursday at 5:35 p.m. CT with left-hander Anthony Veneziano headed to the mound.
