
Oklahoma City Outshoots Albuquerque 10-7

The Oklahoma City RedHawks (10-7) blasted three home runs and tallied 10 runs to defeat the Isotopes (8-9) 10-7 a day after the two clubs combined for four runs, the lowest run total at Isotope Park of the 2013 season.
LF Elian Herrera (1-for-4) collected the game's first hit doubling to right field in the bottom the first. RF Alex Castellanos (2-for-5) promptly singled and Herrera scored on an error by 3B Jimmy Paredes giving the Isotopes their first lead of the series 1-0.
The Albuquerque lead was short lived as the RedHawks found the scoreboard the next half inning. DH Marc Krauss (2-for-4) led off with his fourth double of the year in front of 3B Jimmy Paredes (3-for-5). In turn, Paredes smacked his second homer of the season to right field putting Oklahoma City in front 2-1.
Oklahoma City tacked on two runs in the third extending their led to 4-1 with the help of a couple of errors. Lead-off hitter CF Robbie Grossman (3-for-5) hit a double (1) setting the table for SS Jonathan Villar. Villar (2-for-4) singled scoring Grossman of the play and came in to score on a throwing error by catcher Matt Wallach.
1B Brett Wallace (1-for-4) belted his first long ball of the season in Triple-A and RF Che-Hsuan Lin (2-for-3) doubled and scored via a Grossman single expanding the RedHawk advantage to 6-1 in the fourth. Isotope first baseman Scott Van Slyke (2-for-4) tripled to hill in center with one out in the fourth. DH Rusty Ryal drove Van Slyke in the next play cutting the RedHawk lead to 6-2. Krauss added a solo shot to the Oklahoma City run total in the fifth inning and Lin picked up a RBI plating Paredes for an 8-2 lead.
Albuquerque crept to within two of the RedHawks in the sixth. 2B Alfredo Amezaga (1-for-4) singled and came around to score on a fielding error by Villar. Castellanos drove SS Dee Gordon in on a single and Herrera scampered home on a wild pitch by LHP Eric Berger. Ryal capped the scoring driving in Castellanos on a groundout. The two sides exchanged runs in the seventh. Grossman single home 2B Andy Simunic for Oklahoma City and Gordon scored on a Van Slyke sacrifice fly in the Topes half of the frame.
Isotopes right-handed starter Red Patterson (0-1, 5.40) suffered the loss in his first start of the season. Patterson got touched up for six runs, five earned, on seven hits in three innings of work. He struck out four, walked two and gave up two home runs. Steve Smith, Geison Aguasviva and Peter Moylan combined to throw six innings of relief. They combined to four runs, three earned. Moylan pitched a perfect ninth.
RedHawk right-handed starter Ross Seaton left the game after 4.1 innings allowing six runs, three earned on seven hits. Berger (1-0, 9.82) earned the win tossing 1.2 scoreless innings of relief and RHP Jose Valdez (0.00) earned his fifth save of the season.
The Isotopes and RedHawks take the field tomorrow April 22 at 6:35 PM in game three of the four-game set. Albuquerque RHP Matt Magill (0-0, 3.00) is scheduled to take the mound against Oklahoma City's Jose Cisnero (0-1, 12.71).
