Today's Game: The Oklahoma City Dodgers play the Iowa Cubs at 7:05 p.m. in the second meeting of their four-game series at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The Dodgers look to snap out of their recent funk, having lost eight of the last 10 games.
Last Game: An early series of Dodgers miscues opened the door for a four-run first inning for Iowa, as the I-Cubs went on to an 11-6 win Tuesday night at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark. The I-Cubs scored four times in the first inning, with two key errors committed by first baseman O'Koyea Dickson, resulting in four unearned runs. Iowa added to its lead in the third inning when Dan Vogelbach led off with a solo homer. With the bases loaded and two outs in the third inning, OKC's Zach Walters hit a triple that ricocheted off the top of the wall in left field and cleared the bases to cut Iowa's lead to 5-3. Iowa added two more runs in the fourth on RBI singles by Arismendy Alcantara and Willson Contreras. In the sixth, a two-run triple by Contreras, a RBI single by Almora, and a RBI single by Watkins gave Iowa an 11-3 lead. The Dodgers strung together four hits in the bottom of the ninth and scored three runs, with RBI singles by Antoan Richardson and Austin Barnes. OKC starting pitcher Zach Lee (6-3) took the loss. Although he allowed seven runs over four innings, only two of the runs were earned. Iowa starting pitcher Alex Sanabia (1-1) got the win.
