Salt Lake Bees News Release

SALT LAKE CITY - The Tacoma Rainiers scored two runs in each of the first two innings, as they cruised to a 5-1 win over the Salt Lake Bees on Wednesday. The Bees grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first, as Ji-Man Choi and Kaleb Cowart walked with Choi scoring on an RBI single by Erik Kratz, but Tacoma came back with two in the bottom of the first to take the lead. The Rainiers tied the game on an RBI double by former Bee Daniel Robertson and took the lead on a single by another former Salt Lake player, Efren Navarro, and an error by right fielder Austin Cousino. Chris Taylor added a two run single in the second for Tacoma, which evened the series at one win apiece.

Salt Lake starter David Huff (1-2) took the loss, as he went four innings and allowed four runs on eight hits with five strikeouts and three walks. The Bees managed a total of just four hits against four Tacoma pitchers. Cowart had two of those hits, including a double in the ninth inning.
