Oilers Assign Chorney, Hartikainen & Paajarvi

Oklahoma City - The Edmonton Oilers assigned defenseman Taylor Chorney, left-winger Teemu Hartikainen and right-winger Magnus Paajarvi to the Oklahoma City Barons, Oilers General Manager Steve Tambellini announced today.

Chorney returns to Oklahoma City where he has played in 25 games with the Barons. In those 25 games, he has scored 11 points (3-8-11). This season, he has played five NHL games between the Oilers and St. Louis Blues.

In all, he has played 61 NHL games recording seven points (1-6-7). Paajarvi is making his second trip to Oklahoma City this season. In his first stint with the Barons, he played in 10 games, recording nine points (1-8-9). He has played in 33 games with the Oilers this season, recording four assists. In all, he has played 113 NHL games, scoring 38 points (15-23-38).

Hartikainen returns to the Barons where he has played in 29 games and recorded 19 points (9-10-19). This season, he has played in five games with the Oilers. In all he has played 17 games in the NHL, scoring five points (3-2-5).

The Barons are on the home for two games this weekend. Friday, the Barons host the Houston Aeros, AHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild. Saturday, the Barons host the Texas Stars, AHL affiliate of the Dallas Stars. Faceoff is slated for 7 p.m. at the Cox Convention Center. Both games can be heard on the Barons flagship station, 96.1 KXY.
